Myrtle Beach, SC, April 15, 2016 – During March 2016, a total of 139,473 passengers passed through the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), an increase of 7.9 percent compared to March 2015.

At MYR, total traffic in March 2016, which includes enplanements and deplanements, totaled 139,473 compared to 129,252 in 2015. The number of people arriving on flights, or deplanements, totaled 71,476 compared to 66,179 in 2015. In March 2016, the three air carriers that brought the majority of people to the Grand Strand were Spirit Airlines with 41,785 passengers, American Airlines with 13,003 passengers, and Delta Air Lines with 12,864 passengers.

“The passenger levels at the Myrtle Beach International Airport in March 2016 surpassed the March 2015 passenger counts by almost 8 percent” said Pat Apone, director of airports for Horry County. “The strong year-over-year passenger growth should continue as the Grand Strand market enters into the latter part of spring and peak summer season.”
