Miller-Motte Technical College Hosts Inaugural Community Career Fair |
|
Conway, SC (February 29, 2016) – In an effort to give back to the community and address unemployment in the area, Miller-Motte Technical College is hosting a Community Career Fair at its Conway campus. The event is free and open to the public. Job seekers are encouraged to come dressed to impress potential employers, with resume in-hand. Approximately 75 local recruiters from the healthcare, hospitality, customer service and other great industries will be on site to talk to candidates about jobs that they are filling.
“Unemployment is a serious issue in Myrtle Beach,” says Director of Career Services, Elizabeth Howland. “The goal of this fair is very simple: We want to connect job seekers with open opportunities.” Although the fair will feature top employers from many sectors and locations who are interested in hiring full and part-time employees, attendees can expect to do more than stand in long lines and shake hands. Anyone looking for career training needed for the career they want can take this opportunity to find out more about the variety of programs offered at Miller-Motte. Admissions representatives will be on-hand to answer any questions related to Miller-Motte’s programs.
“Job fairs, like this, are a great way for employers and job seekers to connect and discuss opportunities in our community,” said U.S. Congressman Tom Rice. “Since day one, I have fought to reinvigorate our economy and repeal the regulations impeding its growth so our businesses can create more jobs. I urge all of my constituents looking for employment or networking opportunities to attend this great event.”
The Community Career Fair will be held on Friday, March 11th, from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Miller-Motte Technical College. MMTC is located at 2451 Hwy 501 E. in Conway. Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is partnering with Miller-Motte for this exciting event.
There is no charge for employers wishing to have a table at the Community Career Fair. However, pre-registration is required for all employers. Please contact Elizabeth Howland at Elizabeth.howland@miller-motte.edu for an electronic registration form.
