Big South Basketball Championships Bring Hoops Action to Myrtle Beach Area
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Myrtle Beach area is once again playing host to the VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Basketball Championships March 3 through March 8, 2015.
Twenty-two teams will thrill fans with plenty of hoops action that will be played at Coastal Carolina University’s HTC Center.
Throughout the season, Big South teams have logged wins over ACC, SEC and Big 10 schools. A number of their games, particularly for the men’s squads, have been very close and very competitive.
One of the most popular features from the 2014 Big South Championships was the large sand sculpture that was created using 150 tons of sand. Another sculpture is set to be constructed for the 2015 edition.
This is the third year the Big South Championships are being played in the Myrtle Beach area. An agreement with the conference will keep the championships along the Grand Strand through 2016.
In 2014, the championships attracted over 50,000 fans.
A game schedule and other information about the Big South Championships can be found at www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/bigsouth.
