The board of directors of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) announced today the hiring of Jan H. Hollar as interim CEO.
Hollar comes to the chamber with 39 years of CEO and CFO experience. Previously, she worked at Horry County State Bank, until retirement, where she served as CEO. Prior to that, Hollar owned an accounting consulting firm for financial institutions.
“Her strong background and financial acumen will be a strong asset during this time of transition,” said Carla Schuessler, MBACC board chair.
Additionally, the board of directors has appointed Diana D. Greene, the executive vice president of business development, an 18-year chamber employee, to interim chief of staff position.
"The board appointed Diana Greene to the interim role based on her many years of experience with the organization, our community and with chamber management. She has demonstrated dedication, leadership and commitment to the chamber and our community," Schuessler said.
“Having these two interim positions in place, and more importantly, with the level of expertise both Jan and Diana bring to their respective positions, the board feels we will not only continue day-to-day operations efficiently, but that we will continue to move forward and follow our mission to promote, protect and improve the Grand Strand,” Schuessler said.
Both Hollar and Greene will assume their new duties immediately.
The board of directors and search committee continue to move forward with the hiring process of a new chamber CEO.
