Fishing for the Mission 22 is not just an organization; it’s a movement dedicated to supporting our veterans and combating the tragic epidemic of veteran suicides. Since the onset of the Global War on Terror in 2001, over 7,000 brave military personnel have been lost to combat. More shocking is the fact that during the same period, the number of veterans who have taken their own lives has surpassed 120,000. This alarming statistic underscores the urgency of our mission.
We are committed to serving the one percent who have selflessly served us all. Our purpose extends beyond raising awareness about the heartbreaking reality of veteran suicides. We also strive to create a sanctuary of healing and connection for our veterans through the tranquility of fishing. This peaceful activity not only offers stress relief but also fosters a sense of community among veterans, providing them with a supportive network of peers who understand their experiences.
But our support doesn’t stop at the water’s edge. Recognizing the importance of reintegration into civilian life, Fishing for the Mission 22 also provides vocational retraining opportunities in the marine industry for veterans. By offering a practical pathway towards stable employment, we aim to empower our veterans, giving them the tools they need to transition smoothly back into the workforce. This initiative not only provides our veterans with a renewed sense of purpose but also contributes towards their financial stability and independence.
We stand tall as a beacon of hope and support, reminding our veterans of the respect and gratitude they deserve. By utilizing the therapeutic benefits of fishing and offering vocational training opportunities, we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of our veterans.
Fishing for the Mission 22 is more than a nonprofit organization. It’s a pledge of solidarity, a commitment to care, and a testament to the resilience of our veterans. Join us as we cast our lines and reel in hope, one veteran at a time. Together, we can turn the tide on veteran suicides and help our heroes navigate the path to recovery and reintegration.
