Worst of Tropical Storm Hermine Expected to Be Gone by Late Friday Evening
Weekend Festivities to Resume as Scheduled Saturday Morning

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Though Tropical Storm Hermine is expected to bring heavy rains and high wind gusts along the coastal area of Myrtle Beach through Friday evening, the remainder of Labor Day Weekend will welcome sunny skies and unseasonably cooler temperatures, according to current weather reports.

“Though our call center has been getting a lot of calls from visitors inquiring about the weather, businesses have not indicated that they are getting a ton of cancellations,” says Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “Most businesses seem confident in the reports that indicate the storm is supposed to pass through tomorrow night and leave the rest of the weekend in good shape. We will be ready to communicate with our members should conditions change.”
