WE CAN DO THIS
A disabled sports road cycling adventure from California to Carolina
https://w2e2016.org/ride-information/
On April 10th, 2016, a group of disabled, paralyzed, wounded and severely injured cyclists, paired with able-bodied cyclists (military vets, civilians and supporters) began a 3,113 mile cycle from San Diego to Camp Lejeune, NC, in hopes of raising awareness of the benefits Adaptive Sports can offer our wounded veterans. The cyclists will traverse the nation in only 10.5 days, teaming up to relay day and night until reaching their finish line in Charlotte, NC. The cyclists will then join the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program (ASAP) and ride together to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC on April 24th at approximately 4 or 5pm to end the journey with a party hosted by the Semper Fi Fund. All proceeds raised will benefit the Semper Fi Fund, The Independence Fund and The Carolina Marines.
We, the Axios Production team, have been capturing the moments of storms and glory that surface in such a challenging endeavor. Through the eye of the lens, we will bring the audience onto the ride to experience the peaks, the valleys, and the camaraderie that exists between these men and women who live with similar injuries as they work together to achieve their goal against all odds. Our story will culminate with a final 10-mile victory ride into Myrtle Beach, joined by a large group of veterans and supporters riding alongside our team.
We want to invite America to engage with the riders and morally support them and would appreciate your help in spreading the word of their efforts.
