Rented chairs and umbrella, was told that they could not set it up due to the beach rules. We had no idea that the chairs and umbrella was as heavy it they were. My husband is almost 70 and I am close to that also. Once we realized that there was no way we could carry the equipment much less put the umbrella up, I called and requested them to pick it up and at least give us a partial refund. Was told they would pick them up, only a day after we arrived, but their policy was once you were at the beach there was no refund. I explained that I definitely expected to reimburse them for their time of delivery, etc, but felt that due to the circumstances a partial refund should be acceptable. Was told in no uncertain terms that would not happen. So we were out $197 for nothing. Will not be recommending them to anyone or ever using them again.

rented a lifted golf cart... got a standard cart instead. i'm ok with that... at least they didn't charge me for "lifted". anyway, cart ran great... fully charged. loose wires under steering wheel where turn signals are (they didn't work). no rear view mirror, wind shield was put on incorrectly and wouldn't lock in place... 2 bald tires on right side of cart. so cart looked a bit worse for wear versus what i've rented before from S2... but they were about $50 cheaper for the week. so i took a chance... not sure i would do it again.

Looks like last review was 4 years ago. Sorry to say no improvement of services in August 2021. We watched 2 other companies set up equipment between 8:00 and 9:00. Our agreement said between 8:00 and 10:00. 10:15 am no equipment, excuse of traffic and rude staff.

I reserved and paid for a 6 passenger golf cart back in January for our vacation this week. Several of us have bad knees, and I thought it would be fun for the kids. Confirmed it long ago. Yesterday, got here to find no golf cart. Called and was told 1) they can't find my reservation and 2) they don't carry a 6 passenger one for SC. Well... My receipt surely shows I paid for one.
So, I was offered two 4 passenger ones for the same price. Ok. Fine. They will be delivered Saturday evening. Nope.
Called this morning and was told they were really busy yesterday. The woman said she would call me in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later, I called back. By now it's 10:00. Tracy (I was told the manager) told me the owner had the carts on the truck and was on his way. 30 minutes later, they call to say the carts aren't charged. It will be noon. At 12:20, no delivery.
Now, I try really hard to be patient. By this point I was done. I was denied a refund. Tracy said she couldn't authorize it.
I called back and asked to speak to the owner. Karry hung up on me. I called back 5 additional times. The phone was answered and hung up. I called a 6th time from another cell phone and was answered- quite nicely I will say. When Kerry found out it was me, she huffed. I asked to speak to the owner again.
Tracy got back on the phone and said there is nothing she can do. I told her to refund the money and cancel.
No apologies. No customer service. No resolution.
Realize I made and paid for this in January.

Be careful if you rent with this company...we rented sheets through them in north myrtle beach. When we arrived at the condo at 4:30 the sheets hadn't arrived yet. We called to follow up and they said deliveries go from 4-7 and our sheets should arrive soon. After 5 the office closes and they have a 24 hr emergency line. At 7 our sheets were still not here and we called the emergency line and left a message. We tried multiple times to reach them. No one returned our call - we ended up going to Walmart that night to buy linens - not a great start to vacation. Not sure why they have a 24 hr emergency line if they don't respond to it...

No Stars!!! We rented a surfboard to be delivered June 24, 2017. It never came. So I called. Was told it would come next day. No explanation why it was not delivered first day. Called the 25th, was told they were going to buy a new one to be delivered that day. It never came. No explanation. I called. Was told it would be delivered by lunch the 26th. It never came. I called. No explanation given. I said I wanted a full refund. They said "ok, no problem". Like they didn't care if they did business or not. I have used this company every year for many years before with no issues. Apparently there is new management - or no management. Renter Beware!

Would never do business with this company again. Reserved golf cart in Jan. 2017 for week beginning June 3, 2017. They called around noon on June 2, 2017 and said they had no golf carts. And really did not care! Sorry customer service! Only gave one star because I had to give one star to post my comments.

We wanted to rent beach bicycles, so we called Vacation Equipment Rentals. We told them how tall we were, and whether we wanted a man's or woman's bike. They showed up the next day and delivered it directly to the home where we were staying. They made sure the seats were properly adjusted and watched as we made some short test rides. They were even prepared to switch seats to make sure we were comfortable. At the end of the week, we just left the bikes under the house for them to pick up later, and we were on our way home. No fuss, no muss. Couldn't have asked for better service!

I placed my rental order before coming to the beach and my order was not delivered. When I called to inquire I was told none were available and they could not fill my order. I will never use this company again.

I was very disappointed in the service I received in June 2017. The beach rental process was new to us, and at first, the company seemed very helpful, but that changed. We were told the equipment would be delivered on a certain day, and it did not show up. When I called, apparently the work order wasn't put in, and it was promised we would be the first delivery after 9 am, yet that turned into after 12. When I called to speak to the owner two separate times, I was given the run around and was never able to speak to the owner.
